Asia
Ertis finished a sweep of Zhetisu on Tuesday in Kazakhstan. The other completed series was on a Saturday-Sunday format and both games were won with the narrowest of margins. Barsy Atyrau won the opener, but then Turan bounced back the next day to get one win at home. Vira Cherkasa had 23 rebounds for Caspiy as they started a series on Monday.
There were only two games in South Korea this week ahead of a longer international break. BNK won at Woori Bank on Wednesday and then the Blue Minx defeated the S-Birds on Friday.
Aliyah Matharu had games of 49 and 42 points in losses in Lebanon. The first game had a 40 point effort from Jillian Hollingshed while the second game featured 36 points from Rebecca Akl and 30 points from Italee Lucas. Chyna Cornwell had the biggest rebounding game again with 33 boards. Amar Mansour had an 18 point, 14 rebound, 11 assist triple-double in a game where her teammates Meghry Torossian had 30 points. Lele Grissett had a 33 point game.
Americas
Obras increased their lead in Argentina’s South conference this week after El Talar defeated the two teams sitting behind them. Chanares won two more games to remain undefeated in the North conference, getting a 12 point, 21 rebound, 10 assist triple-double from Stefania Lucero in one win.
The league in Mexico dropped down to four teams, but there was no further adjustment to the schedule so this was a rare two series weekend as both were on a Saturday-Sunday schedule. Mieleras got two easy win over Toritas while Mineras had to battle, but did get the sweep over Dragonas.
North West Tasmania
Another round of games was played on Friday in North West Tasmania and the big scoring game came from Sharna Thompson, who had 33 points in a Somerset Heat win over the Wynyard Wildcats. Rhonda Price had 23 rebounds, but the Smithton Saints lost to the Burnie Tigers. The Devonport Warriors defeated the Ulverstone Redhoppers and the Penguin Blues defeated the Latrobe Demons.
Around Europe
The regular season ended in the Baltic with Kibirkstis already finishing an undefeated run. The playoff series began in the Adriatic as teams were looking to join Buducnost and Montana in the semifinals. Celje won at Rilski Sportist and Partizan Belgrade won at Zagreb. The second division finished their regular season as Graz got the two wins that they needed to join Brod nad Savi, Ilirija, and Maribor in the final stage over their Austrian rivals Duchess Klosterneuburg while Banovici did pick up their first win.
A double-round week in Serbia included 32 and 35 point games from Jovana Popovic, a 35 point game in a loss for Janai Crooms, and a 33 point game from Jovana Adamovic. Abigael Mbombo had 21 rebounds in Montenegro. Tanyia Gordon had 34 points in the Bosnian league.
AEL Limassol finished a sweep of Anagennisi Yermasogias in the finals in Cyprus to win their fourth straight championship. Victoria Vivians had 32 points in the championship game of Israel’s cup as Maccabi Ramat Gan got the win over Maccabi Haifa. The German cup concluded this weekend with Berlin getting their second overtime win to get past Keltern in the final while Marburg defeated Saarlouis for the bronze medal. The playoffs started in Romania and Claudia Cuic had 34 points to nearly outscore her opponents while Juju Redmond had a 31 point game.
Chase for Promotion
Sasha Goodlett had 33 points in Turkey’s second division while Dekeiya Cohen had 27 rebounds in an overtime win. In Spain’s third division, Lala Toure had 20 rebounds and Cristina Lazaro had 30 points. In Serbia’s second division, Natasa Bucevac had 23 rebounds, Jovana Ilic had 22 rebounds, and Tijana Cukic had 31 points. In Lithuania’s second division, Vitalija Miezyte had a 32 point game, Monika Doksaite had a 30 point game, and Laurita Jurciute had a 31 point game.
Notable Individual Performances
In Sweden, Marissa Pangalos had 31 points and her teammate Laina Snyder had 30 points.Konnor Gambrell had 33 points in the Netherlands. Xenia Alfiorova had 33 points in Moldova. Kaye Clark recorded a 17 point, 10 assist, 13 steal triple-double in Kosovo. Sara Puckett had another 34 points in Finland. Rim Taha had a 17 point, 12 rebound, 11 assist triple-double in an overtime loss in Denmark. Karoline Striplin had a 34 point game in the Czech league and Matehya Bryant had a 20 rebound game. Mackenzie Daleba had 30 points in Albania.
A busy week in North Macedonia included a 32 point game from Tymberlin Criswell and a duel that saw her score 40 points in a loss with Dyani Robinson scoring 41 points in the win. The last game had Milica Jovanovic scoring 34 points as her teammate Kayla Thomas grabbed 25 rebounds. In Luxembourg, Caileigh Walsh had 36 points while her teammate Esmeralda Skrijelj dished out 15 assists and Eden Nibbelink had 20 rebounds in her game. A double-round week in Iceland included a tremendous triple-overtime game that had Jada Guinn score 52 points in the win while Jonina Karlsdottir had a 36 point, 12 rebound, 10 assist triple-double in the loss, finishing with a 33 point game from Jiselle Thomas. The end of the regular season in Greece included a 32 point game from Destiny Adams while Isis Beh had 31 points and Nicci Gilday had 30 points in a game where their team came up just short.
