The penultimate round of the regular season started on Saturday with three games as Aminata Sangare and Leganes opened with an 87-61 win over Ibaeta after a huge first quarter. Araski took a first step towards a great escape after an 86-66 win over Moira Joiner and Ferrol. Ainhoa Gervasini and Sedis ended the day with a 74-64 win over Gernika. Ensino surprised Valencia on Sunday with a strong second half for a 70-62 win. Gran Canaria’s nightmare is almost done after they lost 91-59 to Avenida. Joventut Badalona will enter the final day on the wrong side of the tiebreaker for last safe spot after losing to Estepona 74-69, which secure their playoff place. Two games had to played on weekdays due to continental competition and Girona’s return was not successful as they lost to Jairis 72-69 on Wednesday. Zaragoza did get the 80-72 win at Estudiantes on Thursday.
