Spanish League Quarterfinals Game 2 May 3rd

All of the quarterfinals concluded on Sunday with scores from both games being combined to determine the winners. The day started in Valencia with Maimouna Haidara and Lydia Giomi giving Ensino hopes of overturning their deficit early. The hosts did recover from the initial push and won again 73-70, leaving a solid final margin of 158-142. No calculations were required in Girona as Leganes looked to cause the road upset with an outright win. Mariam Coulibaly and Klara Holm made sure the game did not stay close for long, leading the hosts in an 89-63 win for a 171-145 final margin. Zaragoza had a big lead from the first game and just kept on expanding it, winning 90-49 against a shorthanded Estepona group for a massive final margin of 174-117. Jairis was the lone home team that was trailing as the day ended in Murcia and they looked to be cutting into the deficit a few times before Avenida’s final run got them a 72-55 win and the only seeding upset at 146-120.
