Centrobasket Quarterfinals

The quarterfinals were on Thursday with the winners staying in championship contention and the losers dropping down to the consolation bracket. The US Virgin Islands took the lead in the first quarter of the opener, but Rhema Collins had another big game for the Bahamas and took the lead before halftime. The game flipped back in the second half with the US Virgin Islands dominating for the 74-59 win. El Salvador will still participate in next year’s AmeriCup as hosts even though they lost to the Dominican Republic 93-60, meaning that only the three medalists will join them in the confederation-wide tournament.
