After a day of rest, the teams started the knockout round on Saturday with the semifinals. Canada’s young guards were great again, helping them build up a big lead by halftime. Lauren Whittaker and New Zealand made it closer in the second half, but never really challenged in the 86-71 loss. Brazil was looking to continue their sudden run and had the lead early. Anisa Jeffries and Mexico dominated the rest of the game though and got the big 83-64 win in front of the home fans.
