The championship game was on Sunday as the winner of the game would get a spot in the Olympic qualifying tournaments in early 2028 without having to worry about their performance at AmeriCup next year. The game between the teams in the group stage was pretty close, but the rematch ended up being a different story. Canada took the lead early and took the home fans out of the picture on their way to an 83-53 win over Mexico, not shaking off the disappointment of missing the World Cup, but giving a number of young players time in preparation for the next cycle.
