The knockout rounds started with two games on Tuesday and two games on Wednesday. In the first game, Hungary took the lead early and held it for pretty much the entire help until Japan tied it briefly before halftime. They had a great second half and got the 84-63 win with Reka Lelik leading the way. The hosts were next and had the lead early. Lee Hae-Ran had a good start for South Korea as they tied the game briefly a couple of times, but Germany took the lead again and never looked back, getting the 94-56 win.
The Wednesday games ended up being quite the contrast with the first game staying close throughout. Trinity San Antonio and Puerto Rico pushed China for the entire game, but Han Xu and company did enough late to secure the 75-72 win. Australia looked to be cruising to end the round even though they continued to lose starters early in the game. Isobel Borlase stepped in off the bench and had an incredible game, but Costanza Verona and Italy rallied when staring down elimination. Their fourth quarter run tied the game again, but Australia was able to get back out in front and prevail 82-80.
