The knockout rounds started with Friday’s quarterfinals between teams that finished in second and third place in group play. The winners would advance to Saturday’s semifinals while the two losers would play in the first game on Sunday to determine their final place in the standings. Ferro started well, but Araraquara was excellent for the rest of the half, trying to shake off a winless group stage. They made the lead even bigger early in the second half, but had to withstand a late charge from Ferro to get the 64-59 win and earn a rematch against Sportiva Italiana. Rosemarie Julien and the Bay Area Phoenix quickly took the lead in the second game and ended up rolling past Defensor Sporting 104-61, leaving only one Group A team in championship contention as they play Colegio Los Leones De Quilpue next.
