Group A

The two teams that had won their openers met on Wednesday and it was Girona that took the lead by halftime to get the 75-60 win over USK Prague. The two teams looking for their first win played on Thursday and Bourges built a lead after halftime to get past Ruthy Hebard and Gdynia 72-57.

Group B

The other Wednesday game was in this group as the two teams that won their openers met. The game went back and forth before Galatasaray made the last run to get the 62-56 win over Charleville-Mezieres. Zala Friskovec had a good game for Sopron on Thursday as they looked to get their first win, but it was Schio getting on the board after prevailing 82-65.

Group C

Thursday’s action started in this group with both teams looking for their first win. Eleanna Christinaki made sure that it was the home team Olympiacos accomplishing that as they surged out of halftime for the 69-57 victory. Two teams that had made it to the final stage last season were looking for the early advantage and Valencia looked ready to take care of business at home early. Fenerbahce fought back and forced overtime though, leaving with the 75-72 win after Monique Billings had a strong game.

The first game in this group was between teams that lost their first game and it continued to be a poor start for Cukurova even after a good game from Laura Juskaite as Landes left with the 70-69 win. The other two teams were looking for another win as they also played on Thursday and Joyner Holmes and Reyer were able to get the 84-80 win in front of Zaragoza’s big home crowd.
