The first two games of Monday were in this group as Argentina had two tough defeats to open play, but let Florencia Chagas launch from distance early and often to take a secure lead on their way to a 67-51 win over the Dominican Republic. The other game was going to settle the top spot in the group and favorites Brazil looked strong early with Damiris Dantas firing. Canada fought back and had the lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Brazil rallied for the 74-65 win.
