The round started with two games on Friday as Mackenzie Holmes continued to do her best for Geelong, but the lost to Bendigo 93-58. Amy Atwell and Alex Ciabattoni fired Perth past Maddi Rocci and Southside Melbourne 98-81. Miela Sowah and Townsville had an easy 93-60 win over Sydney on Saturday in the battle of the Froling twins. Canberra edged Jaz Shelley and Geelong in the early game on Sunday. That result set up a second game where Bendigo’s 75-67 win over Southside Melbourne behind Megan McConnell and Isobel Borlase left all five teams below the top trio even in the win column. That was going to change on Tuesday with the winner moving into the last playoff spot and it was Canberra getting the 76-71 victory over Adelaide.
