Twelve teams headed to Cairo, Egypt to try to be crowned club champions of Africa. The teams were divided into three groups for round-robin play with the top two teams advancing to the quarterfinals along with the two third-place teams with the strongest performance in the first round. Players on each team who meet our usual roster criteria are listed below with each group.
Group A
The home team Al Ahly played in one of two games on Friday, getting the 91-62 win over Djeneba Sangare and Friend’s. The other game was the final game on Saturday and Nelma Cunha helped Sporting de Luanda start stronger, but Kayana Traylor and REG had the better second half to win 67-64.

The first game of the tournament was in this group as Sara Dickey and KPA got the 83-64 win over FAP. Ferroviario started their title defense on Saturday with Stefania Chiziane leading them in a decisive 85-48 victory over First Bank.
