The week in Japan started with an Iris sweep of the Vickies in a Friday-Saturday series before the rest of the matchups were on the traditional Saturday-Sunday schedule. The Antelopes swept the Sunflowers and the Red Wave swept the Sunshine Rabbits. The Wings salvaged a split after the Magic got 20 rebounds from Marvelous Adaku Victor Nwoko in a first game win. The lower group played their series on a Saturday-Sunday schedule and the Rabbits missed a good chance at their first win after they could not complete a comeback in overtime. The Queen Bees swept the Koalas while the Egrets bounced back from a decisive loss to split with the Aranmare.
Astana continues to be undefeated in Kazakhstan after a sweep of Caspiy. The other Tuesday-Wednesday series saw their closest opponents Turan lose twice at Barsy Atyrau. Turan did bounce back with a sweep of Ertis in a Sunday-Monday series. The latest pod of play in the second division had teams at a single site with three days of action in a row. Zhetisu’s reserve team handed Astana’s reserve team their first loss only to lose to Tomiris, the top non-reserve team for now. Aqtobe picked up their first win so far. Kaussar Ybray matched her opponents with 18 points in one game while Daiya Babikova had a 22 rebound effort.
The week in Korea started on Wednesday with teams battling for the top spot in the standings and 31 points from Jin An was not enough for Hana Bank against BNK. The momentum did not continue for the victors on Friday after they lost to Woori Bank. The Stars got closer to Hana Bank with a win in Saturday’s opener, followed by the Blue Minx staying ahead of the S-Birds at the bottom of the standings after getting 32 points from Lee Hae-Ran. Hana Bank stopped their slide on Sunday with a win over Woori Bank. The Stars ended the week right behind them after a win over BNK.
Guangdong continues to be the undefeated team at the top of the standings in China while Liaoning still leads the lower group, but suffered their first loss. Chennedy Carter continued to pour in the points with games of 31, 34, and 43 points. Maya Caldwell had a 28 point, 16 rebound, 11 assist triple-double for the opposition in the last of those games. Blessing Ejiofor had a 20 rebound game and Kaela Davis had a 32 point game.
Argentina
The championship was decided in Argentina this weekend as the last four teams headed to Ferro’s home gym for the semifinals and medal games. The hosts won the second game against Instituto after Hindu edged Obras in Saturday’s first game. Obras did bounce back in Sunday’s bronze medal game. Ferro won the championship game in decisive fashion against Hindu as both teams made great runs even after not always performing well in the regular season.
Around Europe
There were three games in the second division of the Adriatic and Simone Sill had 31 points in her contest. Big games in Serbia included 30 points from Terae Briggs, 38 points from Ayana Emmanuel, and 33 points from Marina Stojic. Cup games in Croatia included a 32 point effort from Kiara Jackson in a loss. Jasmine Elder recorded a 16 point, 11 rebound, 10 assist triple-double in a league game. Elena Tasevska recorded a 20 point, 14 rebound, 10 assist triple-double in a triple-digit victory in North Macedonia. Denia Davis-Stewart had 30 points in Bulgaria. In the Bosnian league, Andjela Lalovic had 32 points and her teammate Marijana Sehovac recorded a 27 point, 22 rebound, 13 assist triple-double.

A busy week in Ukraine’s second division included a 30 point game from Viktoriia Onishchenko, a 22 rebound game from Viktoriya Rozhkova, and a 30 point game from Viktoria Shmatova. Kennedi Watkins had 31 points and Sierra Smith had 21 rebounds in Portugal’s second division. In Lithuania’s second division, Laurita Jurciute had a 32 point game and Lina Mikeleviciene had a 30 point game. Paula Alvarez Llorian had 31 points in Germany’s second division. A double-round week in France’s second division included a pair of 21 rebound efforts for Julie Tetart, one coming alongside a 30 point game, while Fabienne Constant had a 35 point game.
