African Zone 2 and Zone 3 Qualifiers

Stats for some of the games in these two zones had issues and FIBA has not updated the games with the correct stats so not all of the boxscores are complete.

Zone 2

Four teams headed to Praia, Cape Verde to play a round-robin for an automatic spot at the continental championship, but there were issues that prevented Black Mamba of Guinea from playing, leaving three teams. That left one game per day, starting last Friday with Jade Loville leading Ville de Dakar past Kriola Star 68-42. The hosts bounced back on Saturday against Fireball, which only had five players available. It took overtime and withstanding 27 rebounds from Fanta Sidibe, but they prevailed 45-42. The Guinean team got a sixth player for their game on Sunday, but lost to Diouma Berthe and Ville de Dakar 124-31 to give the Senegalese side the qualification spot.

Fireball had no players who meet our usual roster criteria. Ville de Dakar had Jade Loville, who played at Arizona, and former WNBA player Maimouna Diarra. Kriola Star had Star Fitzgerald-Greer, who played at St. Bonaventure, and Ornela Livramento, who played at DIII school Rhode Island College.
