AfroBasket 2025 Semifinals

Saturday’s action started with two games in the consolation bracket. The home fans did get to see a win to end the tournament as the Ivory Coast led for nearly the entire game in a 78-71 victory over Jane Asinde and Uganda in the seventh place game. Cameroon took the lead early to get the 60-40 win over Mozambique in the fifth place game as both teams along with Uganda had the tougher six games in seven days schedule in this tournament.

That set the stage for the semifinals as teams were gunning for medals and the automatic spot in the World Cup. Cierra Dillard and Senegal looked to spring a surprise in the second half, but Nigeria recovered in the fourth quarter to keep their streak going and return to the championship game. There was no suspense at all in the other game after Mali raced out to a big lead and defeated Delicia Washington and South Sudan 76-50.
