All of the quarterfinals were on Friday as teams would ensure that they would at least be in World Cup qualifying with wins. Flau’Jae Johnson and the United States raced out to a big lead on their way to a 110-44 win over the Dominican Republic in the opener. After a slow first quarter, Canada cruised to a 73-49 win over Colombia. Brazil was hoping to coast to a win, but Mexico made a run in the second half to provide a challenge before Damiris Dantas and Kamilla Cardoso helped the champions pull away for the 84-61 win. Puerto Rico was expected to join them, but they struggled in the second half and Argentina was able to seize the lead and escape with a 53-51 win.
