This round started with a shocker as last place Geelong got big games from Mackenzie Holmes, Alissa Pili, and Shyla Heal to knock Bendigo out of the tie for first place 80-73. Southside Melbourne nearly missed out on a win against an eliminated team, but Cayla George helped them recover late for an 82-77 win over Dallas Loughridge and Adelaide. Canberra fell a game back in the playoff chase, losing to the leaders Townsville 78-62. Sunday’s first game was between eliminated teams and it was Mackenzie Holmes and Jaz Shelley that led Geelong past Unique Thompson and Sydney 89-76. The other game had much bigger implications on the line with playoff seeding and homecourt advantage in play. Perth trailed at halftime, but Amy Atwell and Anneli Maley helped them dominate the second half for an 88-64 win over Bendigo. Tuesday was the big game with the last playoff spot on the line as Jade Melbourne and Canberra had the lead early, but Isabelle Bourne and Southside Melbourne had the edge for the rest of the game, winning 82-75.
