CentroBasket Day 3

Group A

This group opened and closed Wednesday with the top spot and the bye to the semifinals on the line. Rhema Collins had a good game alongside Lashann Higgs to help the Bahamas start well, but Mexico dominated the middle quarters on their way to an 81-67 win. Nicaragua needed a win to avoid getting shuffled to the consolation bracket at home while also flipping the tiebreaker. Kiyomi McMiller could not keep them in the game as Esmery Martinez and the Dominican Republic pressed their advantage in the paint, getting the 90-54 win.

Group B

Guyana needed a win in order to avoid finishing in last place in this group. Their lack of depth hurt again even as Joy and Ruth Adams had strong games, dropping them to the consolation bracket after an 87-71 loss to the US Virgin Islands. Puerto Rico pretty quickly slammed the door on any possibility of an El Salvador upset, taking the top spot in the group with the decisive 99-34 victory.
