EuroBasket 2025 Day 5

Group C

The first game in this group was between the two teams advancing as bracket placement was on the line. It was a close game throughout the first half, but Belgium eventually built up a lead for the 72-60 win over Czechia as Emma Meesseman led the way. Portugal was looking to at least get one win in their first time in this tournament against a demoralized Montenegro squad and they were able to end on a positive note with their 63-49 win.

Group D

The first game on Sunday was in this group as Sweden was trying to advance. They played well early, but Alba Torrens and Spain looked set to win after building up a lead. Klara Lundquist helped Sweden rally though and tie the game in the second half. Not having faith in the result of the other game in the group running in their favor, they opted for overtime to try to flip the tiebreaker to their advantage only to lose 78-75. Germany took care of business and advanced without needing any calculations, getting the 80-67 win over Great Britain as they lead comfortably for most of the game.
