Sunday was the final day of games and it started with a matchup that had major implications with Europe’s final World Cup qualifying spot on the line. Turkey had the lead early, but Lithuania did take the lead in the second half behind Laura Juskaite and Juste Jocyte only to see Teaira McCowan and Sevgi Uzun lead Turkey back with a strong fourth quarter for the 99-87 win. The consolation bracket championship game saw Leonie Fiebich and Germany build a lead by halftime on their way to an 81-70 win over Czechia.
The bronze medal game had France looking to win a ninth straight medal even though it would be their eighth in a row that was not gold while Italy was trying to end their wait of thirty years. Italy started well and continued to wear down France, getting the big 69-54 win. That set the stage for the championship game rematch and Spain started well in their quest to avenge that defeat from two years ago. Belgium trailed for nearly the entire game, but fought back when it mattered and got the dramatic 67-65 win to defend their crown and qualify directly for the World Cup alongside Germany.
