One team dropped out of EuroCup, so there are five series for the ten teams trying to get the remaining spots in the regular season. Each series is two games with the unseeded team hosting the first game and the seeded team hosting the second game. Scores from both games are added up at the end of the second game to determine who advances. Either game can finish in a tie as overtime is only played if the overall score is tied at the end of the second game.
All of the series started on Thursday, opening in Nis with Student trying to provide Serbia with a representative, getting the 93-78 win over Universitatea Cluj. The series heads to Romania next after Lauryn Taylor and Lauryn Morris made their professional debuts. Alena Hanusova had a good game for Czech upstarts Brandys nad Labem, but Reka Dombai and Szekszard are bringing an 81-69 lead back to Hungary as Maria Gakdeng and Liza Karlen made their professional debuts. Kelsey Ransom had a strong professional debut for Panathlitikos Sykeon, but Dinamo Sassari will bring a 72-56 lead back to Italy after Temira Poindexter made her professional debut. Also in Greece, Gernika, which got a professional debut from Esther Matarranz, left with a decisive 90-57 lead over PAS Giannina. The last game of the day was in Switzerland and it ended in a 65-65 tie between hosts Troistorrents and Ostrava, leaving no need for calculations in the next game in Czechia.
