EuroLeague Play-Ins Game 1 February 18th-19th

Semifinals

The Play-Ins started on Wednesday and the first game was in this section for the teams that finished in the top two places in their groups. All of these teams have already qualified for the final stage, but winners of these best of three series will start in the semifinals and the losers will start in the quarterfinals. Girona pushed Fenerbahce in the first half, but Iliana Rupert and the hosts did pull away in the second half for the 87-69 win. The other series started in Istanbul on Thursday and it looked like Galatasaray would take care of business at home, but Murjanatu Musa and Leila Lacan helped Landes force overtime with a brilliant fourth quarter before Dorka Juhasz and the hosts recovered for the 81-72 win.

Quarterfinals

These series are also best of three but the losers are eliminated with the winners joining the final stage at the quarterfinal round. Both games were played on Wednesday, starting with Zaragoza leaving the defending champions USK Prague on ropes after an 82-71 road win. The other series featured Italian league rivals with Reyer hoping that homecourt advantage would help in a matchup that had been tough for them so far this season. Schio was able to win 68-66 though and put both fourth place teams in position to close out the third place teams at home next week.
