Group B
This group started Thursday’s action as well and the lone game would decide which team won the group and earned the bye to the semifinals. It was a close game early, but Daniela Wallen and Venezuela had the lead by halftime. They kept their advantage in the second half and got the 71-57 win for a great result and qualification to next year’s AmeriCup as well.

Group A
The first game in this group would determine second place in this group and the bracket matchups for the important next games that would award the two remaining AmeriCup places. Colombia seized control of the game early and rolled to a 71-46 win over Paraguay. The last game of this stage had no bearing on anything with both teams already locked into their positions for the rest of the tournament. Argentina was looking to keep everyone both fresh and in rhythm for medal rounds and still took care of business with a 64-45 win over Uruguay, which now waits for teams to drop down to the consolation bracket.
