Half of this round was played on Saturday as Girona bounced back from a tough loss with a 68-64 win over Joventut Badalona. Ensino’s struggles continued with a 79-74 loss to Khadija Faye and Ibaeta despite the best efforts of Imani Tate. Dalayah Daniels and Ferrol remained in touching distance of the playoffs with a 74-54 win over Estudiantes. Gran Canaria did not find it any easier to start the second half of their season, losing to Aminata Sangare and Leganes 93-54.
Sunday’s games included what was expected to be a closer game, but Leonie Fiebich and Valencia used a strong second half for an 81-54 win over Avenida. Estepona was close to what would have been a major upset and a big result for their chances at safety, losing to Zaragoza 62-59. Morgan Bertsch was excellent for Jairis in a 91-73 win over Gernika. Two teams trying to get to safety closed the day and Sedis’s 71-66 win left Araski at the bottom of the tiebreaker to sit in the danger zone.
