The 2026 World Cup Draw was Conducted on Tuesday

The group draw was made on Tuesday for this year’s World Cup in Germany. The procedures had been previously announced as teams were separated into seeds based on being the host country or performance and then rules were set to ensure balance in each group when it came to home continents. Each team will play the other three teams in their group with the top team in each group advancing directly to the quarterfinals. The last place teams will be eliminated while teams in second and third place will advance to the first knockout round games.

Groups

A: Japan, Spain, Germany, Mali
B: Hungary, South Korea, Nigeria, France
C: Belgium, Australia, Puerto Rico, Turkey
D: United States, Czechia, Italy, China

In the first knockout round, teams from Group A will face teams from Group B and teams from Group C will face teams from Group D. The top team in Group A will face the winner of the game between Group C’s second place team and Group D’s third place team. The top team in Group D will be on the same side of the bracket and will face the winner of the game between Group B’s second place team and Group A’s third place team. The top team in Group B will face the winner of the game between Group D’s second place team and Group C’s third place team. The top team in Group C will face the winner of the game between Group A’s second place team and Group B’s third place team.
