Brazil
Teams were looking to advance in the quarterfinals in Brazil this week through either sweeps or forced third games. Ourinhos had lost on the road at Sao Jose dos Campos, but evened the series with a win at home on Thursday. The next game did lead to a sweep as Araraquara defeated Mesquita again after returning home. One more series resumed on Friday with Sampaio finishing a sweep of Cerrado. There was a deciding game on Saturday and it took until overtime to decide before Sao Jose dos Campos left with the win over Ourinhos. The last series concluded on Sunday with Campinas finishing their sweep of Corinthians on the road.
Australia
The regular season started finishing in some conferences of NBL1, including the South. Geelong finished undefeated in style, getting a 22 point, 13 rebound, 12 assist triple-double from Jaz Shelley. Georgia Booth had a pair of 30 point games for the Dandenong Rangers. The Melbourne Tigers had their season end, but Indiah Bowyer had a 32 point game to close the campaign.
Teams only have one game left in the North conference as the Logan Thunder and Southern Districts Spartans both won to stay in the lead. The Rockhampton Cyclones lost twice despite getting a 32 point game from Moira Joiner in their first game, giving up 33 points to Samantha Bowman in the second game against the Townsville Flames. Shannon Ryan had 31 points in a win for the Sunshine Coast Phoenix.
The West conference still has two weeks to run and the Cockburn Cougars had the bye, but the Warwick Senators fell a game further back of them at the top the standings. Alex Ciabattoni started the week with a 32 point game for the Rockingham Flames and then Karly Murphy turned in the highest scoring effort by pouring in 35 points for the Eastern Suns. The Suns ended the weekend on the other end of the big statline after Awatea Leach had 33 points for the East Perth Eagles. Alex Sharp had a 34 point game for the Rockingham Flames, which nearly doubled up their opponents.
The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles took the top spot in the East conference despite getting a battle from the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence, which had fill-in players taking the place of scholarship holders playing on the U19 national team. The final weekend started off in wild fashion as Lauren Nicholson poured in 51 points and Madeleine Norris had a 18 point, 10 rebound, 13 assist triple-double to help the Sutherland Sharks win an overtime game with six players as Tahlia Tupaea had a 28 point, 11 rebound, 10 assist triple-double on the other side for the Inner West Bulls. Kristina Moore had 34 points for the Bulls the next day in a win as Asha Phillips had 30 points in the loss for the Illawarra Hawks. Jordan Vazquez had 31 points to end the season for the Penrith Panthers and Jasmine Forcadilla had 31 points for the Central Coast Crusaders to end their tough season in last place. Nicole Munger had a 41 point game for the Newcastle Falcons to get ready for the playoffs.
The Central conference also finished their regular season and the Forestville Eagles clinched having the top spot all to themselves with a win over the North Adelaide Rockets, which finished in fourth place. The West Adelaide Bearcats and Sturt Sabres both won to stay in second and third place.
Eliza Hollingsworth had the highest scoring game in Big V’s top division with 30 points as the Pakenham Warriors continued to chase first place. The Craigieburn Eagles are still in the lead in the middle division, but are showing signs that they could struggle in the playoffs. Keysborough picked up a pair of wins in the bottom division as the undisputed top seed, but Candice Rogers did have a 25 rebound game for the Surf Coast Chargers.
